Tell the next generation honestly
Read in your Bible: Psalms 76–79.
Psalm 78 recounts God's works alongside Israel's repeated unfaithfulness. The purpose is to teach coming generations to place their hope in God rather than repeat a stubborn pattern. The following lament shows why remembered history matters amid present devastation.
Faithful teaching does not preserve a community's reputation by hiding its failures. An honest history can magnify God's mercy and expose choices worth resisting. Children and learners need more than impressive stories; they need help connecting truth with the way adults actually live.
Tell a story of faith that includes what you learned and what you would now do differently. Welcome questions rather than protecting a polished image. Choose one present action that makes your teaching about God more credible.

God of generations, help us tell the truth about Your goodness and our failures. Make our teaching humble, our listening patient and our lives increasingly consistent with the hope we share. Amen.
