Strength with a divided heart
Read in your Bible: 2 Chronicles 8–11.
Chronicles recounts Solomon's later works and the division under Rehoboam. Among the upheavals are people who set their hearts to seek the Lord and relocate to worship faithfully. National change becomes a setting for personal decisions about allegiance.
A society's direction does not eliminate individual responsibility, and a change of location alone cannot create a faithful heart. The account notices a deliberate desire to seek God amid political rearrangement. We can ask how our practical choices support the convictions we say matter.
Review one arrangement that continually weakens a clear conviction. Seek a realistic adjustment rather than assuming good intentions will overcome every influence. Support someone making a costly, responsible choice without deciding that their path must be identical to yours.
